2015-12-02

Moving heads from PR Lighting have been out in force at a number of high profile events in the Peruvian capital of Lima, reports Julio Vidal, general manager of Layset, the manufacturer’s territorial distributor.

With bases in Peru and La Paz (Bolivia) the stage lighting specialists have enjoyed a particularly busy Autumn — thanks to their rental company partner, Cocolight Productions.

It started in August at the Gran Teatro Nacional in Lima where Peruvian musician, Lucho Quequezana presented his show, Ludofónica, with the National Symphony Orchestra. With 60 musicians performing the stage was decorated with 14 XR 300 Beam, and 12 PR 5000 conventional heads as well as popular andpowerful LED fixtures in the shape of 12 XLED 590 and eight XLED 1037.

This was followed by Reunión de Sonidistas, Luminotécnicos y Afinesat Discoteca Habana, the Latin Salsa club in Lima. This gave Layset an opportunity to meet lighting directorsand sound engineers and present new sound, lighting and special FX from their distributed brands. In the case of PR Lighting this includedtwo of the mini XLED 2007 Beam and two of the fully-featured XLED 250 LED spots.

Layset then moved on to the city’s Parque de la Exposición for a concert by South Korean group, MBLAQ where the amphitheatre stage was lit by eight XL 1200, eight XLED 1037 and six XR 300 Beam.

Further activity was to follow at the same park when religious supergroup, Siervas launched their new album Ansias Que Queman, illuminated by 12 PR 5000, 12 XLED 590, 12 XLED 1037, 12 XR 300 Beam and six XR 1000 Spot.

In between, the company also had time to field no fewer than 40 XR 300 Beam, along with 12 PR 5000, four XR 1000 — and LED fixtures comprising 20 each of the XLED 590 and XLED 1037 at the Escuela de Oficiales del Ejercito (Military School) in Lima for the Dia del Soldado Peruano (Soldiers’ Day) — thus completing a memorable season.
