As is the tradition each year, Musbi AC (Music in the Bicentennial A.C), combined with the Ministry of Culture of the Mexican Federal Government, Hermes Music Foundation, Performers of Mexico and the Single Union of Music Workers, to stage the International Jazz Festival. Now in its 8th edition, it took as its setting the emblematic Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City.
Over the course of three days the bill featured Mexican and international musicians, who presented different styles of jazz to create an extremely rich and varied show. The opening day saw performances by Waldo Madera Quintet, Javier Nandayapa Fusion Cuatro and Roberto Aymes y suMúsica. The following day HéctorInfanzón Orchestra, Marco Morel Guitarra Octet andDannahGaray Quartet appeared. And on the final day, Bob Sands &ChuchoLópez H. Big Band, Los Bronces and Jean Paul Bideau Official Quintet performed.
Lighting for the show across the three days was all entrusted to fixtures from PR Lighting, the professional brand distributed in Mexico by Hermes Music. Featured in the show were: 12 x PHANTOM; 8 x XLED 4022RZ; 12 x XR 200 Beam and 6 x XLED 3019.From PR Lighting’s economic Junior series the stage also featured 12 x JNR PAR COB and 18 JNR-8154B JNR PAR Zoom B.
The versatility of the different lamps ensured that each of the fixtures gave an excellent performance to achieve all the textures, colour and environmental mood of a first-rate concert.
